I have been planning for quite some time now to stay in New York, putting my ideas and dreams of traveling around on the backburner. I figure that I’m already here, so why not just stay? I can do that later, right? But then I wake up feeling like this. Like my heart is crumbling and I have that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, because I only have two months to figure out my next life move and I really miss the mountains and I want to go to British Columbia and Norway and Iceland and Costa Rica and Brazil and I want to move back to Boulder. This is that same itch to leave I always get, except this time, I’m already somewhere else than home. I need to find patience, but it’s much harder than usual with the fast paced-ness of the city and the lack of a lover or lots of friends close by to keep me distracted. So I’m back to surfing Help Exchange - what I always do when I feel anxious to split - searching organic farms, homestays, hostels, and bed & breakfasts that I wish to run away to and work for free in exchange to sleep, stay, and experience a new place/a new life. I’m making NY nanny profiles and trying to motivate myself to write a server resume. I’m searching craigslist for “cheap” apartments. Will I stay or will I go?
